# MapTiler Geocoding – release 2.15.23

This report provides a snapshot of our [Geocoding](https://docs-qmgv.pages.dev/cloud/api/geocoding/) services. We regularly update the indexes to integrate the latest data and introduce new search features.

## Main changes

-   **Corrected postal codes for French addresses:** Postal code areas in France overlapped with neighboring ones, so an address could be returned with the postal code of the adjacent commune (for example an address in Dijon returned as `21240`, the code for neighboring Talant, instead of `21000`). Addressed in this release – postal codes for French addresses are more accurate in both forward and reverse geocoding.
-   **Global data refresh:** Full rebuild of the global indexes, adding **536,346** net new features. This includes **446,089** new POIs, **49,118** new addresses, **16,372** new places, **13,942** new natural and landform features, **3,873** new roads, and **2,844** new postal codes.
-   **Worldview update:** Palestine is included in the United Arab Emirates (`ae`) worldview. The default worldview is unchanged.

## Global and regional changes

-   **Global:** Full data refresh from recent OpenStreetMap updates and database improvements.
-   **France:** Postal codes returned for addresses no longer come from the neighboring commune.
-   **United Arab Emirates worldview:** Palestine is included.

## Data trends and impact

## Required actions

**None.** This release is fully backward-compatible. All index updates apply automatically. API parameters, index names, and response shapes are unchanged.
