    MapTiler Geocoding – release 2.15.21

    This report provides a snapshot of our Geocoding services. We regularly update the indexes to integrate the latest data and introduce new search features.

    Main changes

    • Database growth: The global database expanded by 693,687 features, including 609,133 new POIs, 63,557 new addresses, and 6,505 new roads. This provides more comprehensive and up-to-date search results for users worldwide.

    • Worldview updates: We updated the boundary database to support country-specific views for Japan (jp), South Korea (kr), and the United Arab Emirates (ae). These changes align with the MapTiler Planet-v4 state.

    • Place deduplication: We merged duplicate city point records into administrative boundaries in countries like the US, Sweden, Germany, and Spain. This removes redundant search results and integrates official Wikidata records.

    Global and regional changes

    • Global: Full data refresh using recent OpenStreetMap updates and database improvements.

    • Boundary views: Re-synchronized simplified country grids and boundary logic to support custom country-level search views for Japan, South Korea, and the UAE.

    • Europe address improvements:

      • Hungary: Updated address queries to support flexible formats (for example finding Marton utca 3/b when entered as Marton utca 3b).
      • Sweden: Updated city-level formatting to return the primary metropolitan city name (for example returning Stockholm instead of localized neighborhood divisions like Källan).
